Metrology

Metrology is the discipline of measurement and its applications. It ensures that the parameters used to measure physical quantities are unambiguous. These days, industrial manufacturing would be impossible without fixed, shared units of measurement and aligned, unequivocal control tools.

Cefla Tech offers a Metrology Service that performs checks in our partners’ laboratories and at our customers’ facilities.

Our proposal includes:

management of customers’ technological assets, as a whole
accredited calibration for electrical and mechanical quantities, in compliance with national and international standards
calibration of instruments and measurement/testing systems

Innovation

Each instrument has a unique serial number; the latter is associated with a set of information that constitutes the registry (user, where the instrument is used, last check and next check dates)

Each instrument is assigned a class (II or III) based on any legal requirements (e.g. instrumentation for gas leak detection) and internal/customer’s quality policies.

The class determines the severity and frequency of the checks: from the simple annual functional check-up to calibrations through accredited centres, at intervals agreed with the customer.

Digitalized service

Cefla Tech uses management software to monitor deadlines and administer a document archive.

For each instrument, our proprietary software sends one or more reminder emails relating to deadlines. Emails are sent to specific address lists. These reminders are sent 45 and 15 days before the deadline and 90 days after the deadline, after which the internal quality policy disallows use of the instrument; these intervals can be customised according to the customer’s needs.

Document management functions allow us to associate each tool with a set of documents that guarantee full traceability of the checks performed (the management system is ISO 9100/9001-compliant)
